Terms of service
Applies to myjp.ca and pay.myjp.ca. Last updated 15 September 2026.
These are the terms between you and myjp.ca (“we”, “us”) for using this site: the games, the tools, the sign-in that covers them, and the payments page. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please don’t use it — that is the whole enforcement mechanism of a site this size.
Who may use it
Anyone 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian is agreeing to these terms on your behalf, and any payment must be theirs to make.
Your account
- One account per person. You sign in with a passkey on a device you control; keep that device safe. Anything done while signed in with your passkey is yours.
- Add a recovery email if you want a way back in after losing every device. Without one, we may not be able to restore access, and we cannot restore what we cannot verify.
- Your display name is shown to other players and on leaderboards. Keep it something you would say to a table of strangers: nothing hateful, impersonating, or obscene. We may change a name that isn’t.
- You can remove passkeys, emails and sessions from your account page at any time, and ask us to delete the account outright (how).
The games
- The games are for people. No bots, scripts, or automation at the table or on the daily boards; no more than one seat per person in a game; no probing or tampering with the game servers.
- Scores are computed on the server from the moves you actually made. A result that turns out to have been obtained by cheating or by a defect can be removed from the leaderboard.
- When there aren’t enough people at a table, an AI player takes the empty seat. It plays to win, but it is not a person, and it is not you.
- Tables, boards, seasons and leaderboards may be reset, changed or retired as the games develop. Nothing on a leaderboard is a thing you own.
The tools
- What you upload stays yours. You give us only the permission needed to process it and hand it back to you. We do not look at your files except to fix a failure you have asked us about.
- Upload only what you have the right to. Nothing unlawful, and nothing that is anyone’s to distribute but yours.
- Source files are deleted 7 days after upload and results 30 days after they are made, or sooner if you delete the job. Download what you want to keep; a tool is not storage.
- Limits (file size, live jobs, total space) are shown in the tool and may change.
Payments
All amounts are in Canadian dollars. Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and pre-authorized debit are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s checkout page under Stripe’s terms; Wise and Lightning payments are made through those networks. There are four kinds of payment here:
- A tip (“Support”, “Chip in”, “buy me a coffee”) is a voluntary payment for work you have enjoyed. It buys nothing, unlocks nothing, and is not a donation to a charity — myjp.ca is not one. Any amount from $2.
- A one-time supporter payment for a game, of the amount shown on its Support page ($10 or more, today), unlocks that game’s supporter extras for the account that paid, for as long as the game exists. Below that amount it is a tip for that game.
- A monthly supporter subscription for a game unlocks the same extras for as long as it runs. Stripe charges your card each month. Cancel any time from the game’s Support page (the Manage button opens Stripe’s portal); the extras stay until the end of the period already paid, and nothing is charged after that.
- Credit is money you add to your account to pay for tool runs that have a price. The price is shown before you confirm; it is held from your credit when the run starts and charged when it finishes, or released if it fails. Credit never expires while the account exists. It cannot be transferred to another account or withdrawn as cash except as a refund below.
Supporter extras are cosmetic and convenience features inside a game (a mark by your name, a colour pick, private tables, a name of your own, and the like, as listed on each game’s Support page). They are a thank-you, not goods: they may change as the game develops, and they end if the game does or if your account is closed for breaking these terms.
Refunds
- Tips are final. If a tip was a mistake — the wrong amount, a double charge — write within 14 days with the receipt and we will refund it.
- A one-time supporter payment is refundable within 14 days if you ask; the extras are removed. After that it is final.
- A monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time; the month already charged is not refunded, unless the charge was a mistake, in which case ask within 14 days.
- Unused credit is refunded on request at any time, less what has been spent. Credit spent on a run that failed is released, not charged.
- Refunds go back to the payment method used, through Stripe, and take a few business days to appear. Lightning and Wise payments are refunded to a destination you give us.
To ask, email support at myjp dot ca with the Stripe receipt. Please write to us before opening a dispute with your bank: a chargeback costs us more than the payment was, and we will refund anything that should be refunded without one.
What we promise, and don’t
The site is provided as it is, by one person, for the enjoyment of a few. We try hard to keep it up, correct and safe, and we make no promise that it will be. Games may have bugs; a tool may fail on a file; the site may be down. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site beyond the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law in your province gives you and does not let you waive.
Ending things
You can stop using the site any time and ask for your account to be deleted. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — cheating, abuse of other players or of the servers, unlawful uploads, fraudulent payments — and in that case no refund is owed. We may also retire a game, a tool, or the whole site; if a paid feature is retired within 30 days of a payment for it, we will refund that payment.
The rest
- The site, its games and its code are ours or used with permission. You may not copy or resell them.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada, and any dispute is heard in Ontario.
- If we change these terms in a way that matters, the date at the top moves and, if you have a recovery email on your account, we tell you there first. Continued use after that is acceptance of the new terms.
- Our privacy policy is part of these terms.
