How to play

Every morning the paper gives the forecast and the news. Buy what you need, set the recipe and the price, and press Start day. Once the day starts nothing can be changed.

The recipe. Lemons and sugar go in each pitcher; ice goes in each cup. Keep the lemons at about twice the sugar, or it is too sweet or too sour. Hot days want more ice — without enough, the lemonade is warm — but ice waters the pitcher down, so add lemons and sugar with it.

The price. People pay more when it is hot, and a busy office worker pays more than a kid. Watch the bubbles: $ means too expensive, … means they gave up waiting.

Popularity and satisfaction are kept for each place separately. Popularity grows with every visit; satisfaction falls with every unhappy customer, and together they decide how many people come over. Advertising helps a new place get known.

Stock goes off. Ice melts every night, lemons last five days, sugar twenty. Cups last for ever. Your stand can only hold so much.

Upgrades serve people faster, make pitchers faster, keep lemons fresh or make ice. A slow stand at a busy place loses more customers than it serves.
